Short term contracts
Occasionally we have available apartments with short-term contracts. These contracts are often for a couple of months with no option to extend. These apartments are rented out on a ”first come first served” basis.
Apartment exchange
After you have held a tenancy contract for at least 12 months you have the right to exchange apartments with another tenant. You must find a tenant willing to exchange with you and you can use the queueing system to advertise. The tenant with whom you exchange apartments is also subject to the rule relating to a minimum tenancy period of 12 months. This does not apply for those of you with Masters or Research contracts. Masters or Research apartments cannot be exchanged.
You can register on our housing queue from the year you reach the age of 17. You must be 18 years of age to sign a tenancy agreement.
If you fail to update your registration every six months, by logging on to My pages, you will lose any points you have accumulated. When you receive an apartment your queue points will be reset to zero and you need to logon to My Pages and reenter the queue.
Prior to being accepted as a student you can collect preparatory queue points. You will be given one point for each day that you are registered and the maximum number of preparatory queue points is 365. After that membership in a Student Union is required for queue points to accumulate further.
Membership i Chalmers Student Union gives 2 queue points per day. Membership in one of the student unions in the Association of Student Unions in Gothenburg gives one point per day.
You cannot share your queue points with another person or give them away, they are individual.
When you express an interested in an apartment you should have the following regulations in mind:
