Sustainability Policy

– Our goal is to own and manage student and researcher housing on a long term basis and therefore it is natural for us to act responsibly when it comes to sustainability. The policy is designed to aid us in planning our activities and our daily work with a focus on sustainability, says Joakim Wallin, Managing Directors of Chalmers Studentbostäder.

The policy rests on three pillars – financial, environmental and social responsibility. Sustainability will permeate our entire operation and will be clear to all our employees.
An important premise is the UN Global Compact, which contains ten principles on human rights, labour, environmental management, and anti-corruption.

In our case, financial sustainability means that among other things we will achieve our financial goals, take responsibility for long-term and profitable management and ensure stable finances.

Environmental responsibility means that we will facilitate conditions for ourselves, our suppliers and our tenants to act in an environmentally sustainable manner throughout our entire operation.

Social responsibility involves being an active participant in the community and showing a large measure of community involvement. We will also an attractive, pleasant, safe and healthy workplace.
