Guest researcher: Looking for an apartment

Apartments for guest researchers at Chalmers University of Technology will not be published on our webpage. They are administrated separately by the institution International Staff Mobility at Chalmers (ISMO) in collaboration with us. We do not choose who will be offered apartments for guest researchers,  this is done by ISMO.

Guest researchers at Chalmers should contact ISMO for the housing queue and questions regarding housing. Email to ismo.stodet@chalmers.se

If you want to increase your chances to get one of our regular apartments, and not only the apartments through ISMO, you need to register in our housing queue as well. Please click here to register in our housing queue.

As a guest researcher, you can live for two years in the guest-research-apartment. However, on the address Eklandagatan 96B the tenancy limitation is six months. Please contact ISMO to find out the limitation in your tenancy contract or to ask for possible extension or termination. The research apartments are administrated separately by ISMO in collaboration with us. We do not choose who will be offered an apartment or if the tenancy will be extended or not. This is done by ISMO. If you have a research apartment through Chalmers you should send your questions to ismo.stodet@chalmers.se
If you require an apartment after the tenancy limitation for your guest-researcher-apartment, you can apply for our regular apartments. Please register now to collect housing queuing points. When you register, please make sure that you have not just created an account but that you are collecting queuing points as well. To register, please click here. The process for receiving a tenancy contract is based on the queuing points, please read more below.
The process for receiving a tenancy contract is based on the queuing points, which is why you need to register in our housing queue. It usually takes one and a half years up to two years to receive your first tenancy contract offer. Available apartments are published on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Therefore, you need to both register your interest to ISMO and register in our housing queue at the same time to increase your chances if you need a regular apartment after the tenancy limitation period.
The rental period has a limit of six years per tenant, including the time you have lived in a guest-researcher-apartment. If you are continuing with a Ph.D. after this period, your tenancy limitation will be expanded with an additional three years. If this is the case, please send an employee agreement which states that you will continue with a Ph.D.
