About the project

Together with Göteborgs Stad and Göteborgs Studenters Företagsgrupp AB we plan to develop the peripheral zone to the east of Gibraltargatan to create a better, more interesting and more exciting place for everyone by constructing beautiful, climate-smart, green buildings.
The development project consists of housing for 450 students and researchers along with the expansion of Fysiken and Akademihälsan.
Our starting point is the program for Chalmers Johanneberg, Mossen and Landala. Consultation document, October 2012 reference number 0515/10. It is planned that the new student housing will be built on the east side of Gibraltargatan between Emilsborg 3 (the curved building partially on poles, Gibraltargatan 78) and HSBs Brf Lilla Le (Kv. Uddjaur – Emilsborg 5) along with a preschool consisting of five departments.
To the west, Fysiken wishes to refine and expand operations and in this manner contribute to a more interesting and living Gibraltargatan.  We wish to increase the density of the infrastructure along Gibraltargatan’s west side and create a living area with meeting points that both current tenants and future tenants can enjoy. Mossens Square will be opposite Emilsborg 3. The current boring, grey, bland gravel surfaces will be replaced with beautifully paved surfaces incorporating green planted areas and with natural access to Mossen. Nya Fysiken will have a new much more prominent entrance in the Square. We are planning a self-service bicycle facility along with parking facilities for you to park your own bicycles. People can gather here to enjoy a variety of temporary activities and events. Stores and services will be found among the residential entrances around the square with everything near the existing bus stops and pedestrian/bicycle tracks.
We consider it possible that the project will be included in SBK’s start plan for 2018 or 2019. An early assessment is that the entire project will be completed by 2023/24
