Our latest construction project, Kv. Nålskäran on Dr Forselius Backe, has now officially been named one of the best buildings in Gothenburg. Chalmers Studentbostäder received this fine prize in connection with the prize awards ceremony for the best buildings in Gothenburg.
The prize is awarded by the Per and Alma Olsson Fund to “the builder who during the previous year completed the building(s) best matching aesthetic as well as hygiene and practical requirements”.
Kv. Nålskärna was one of 12 nominees and the representatives of the Per and Alma Olsson Fund were impressed by the design of the façade among other things.
Following is the motivation for the award:”The skillfully portrayed facade with its oblique corten screens around the windows contrast with the dark compact brick wall as an architectural exclamation mark while at the same time fulfilling noise reduction requirements.
– Bearing in mind the number of projects carried out in Gothenburg in 2016 it is really great that our building is one of the twelve to be awarded this fine prize, says project manager Åke Thunberg.
The winner was Däckshuset in Sannegårdshamnen, built by Familjebostäder and designed by Wingårdh architects.
